Winter Survival 101: Fireside Drinks
The bone chilling, cold weather and our latest candle scent “January Fireside” inspired us to go in search of Cape Cod’s coziest spots to sit fireside and enjoy a drink. Here are a few of our favorites:
Inn at 359 Main
Chatham, MA
This charming boutique hotel has three fireplaces to choose from as well as an impressive selection of wines by the glass. Our fireside pairing: the large crackling lobby fireplace and a crisp glass of ZD Chardonnay.
Barley Neck Inn
Orleans, MA
A casual spot in Orleans, the massive stone fireplace is at the heart of it all. We suggest grabbing an empty seat at the bar, putting away your phone and pairing some good old-fashioned conversation with the Maple Old Fashioned.
Thoreau’s
Harwich, MA
Everything about this tavern is warm and inviting, from the leather chairs to the painting of Henry David Thoreau above the fire. Our favorite pairing: an overstuffed chair, a martini with blue-cheese stuffed olives, and a copy of Thoreau’s “Cape Cod.”
